LETTER: Cheating the IRS hurts other taxpayers
September 22, 2012 at 10:56 am in The Daily Republic
I see these people on the TV advertising that if you owe the IRS money they can save us money. I don’t know what the catch is, but if you owe the IRS money, you better pay up or you might find yourself in jail. And if you know someone that is cheating on their taxes, it might pay you to report them. Continue Reading

The fact is the uprising was caused by some crazy radical people with no respect for our country’s free speech amendment to the United States Constitution. I don’t condone the video clip but this is a free country. I am more upset that Obama is running around apologizing for someone who has every right to express himself freely as an american. He is speaking his opinion and the ironic thing is that the Muslim reaction in some of these countries adds validity to some of the criticisms that are made against them. People have bashed Judism, Christianity, etc. in film, on late night programs etc. but I don’t see the Jews and Christians taking the day off to destroy their own country and kill their own people. Not are these people the problem, they are poor excuses for a person of any faith.

The film is just an excuse for the planned attack on the embassy.

Can we talk about what fair taxes actually means? Is it fair that romney paid almost 2 million in federal taxes and 47 percent of Americans pay none. That doesn’t seem fair to me. He doesn’t use the military, interstates, public school system, Medicare system, social security etc any more than most others. I would say he probably uses most of them less. We need to get our hands around the word fair. If 20 guys want to buy a 200$ keg, fair is each pays 10$ and everybody gets the same amount of beer. It seems the people that pay nothing, drink the most and complain about it being so. The great equalizer is supposed to be a free public education. We can all do what we want with that opportunity, what hung the DNc, I saw a lot of people that came from nothing and under the capitalistic system they criticize so much, they are now educated, wealthy, powerful and successful. Isn’t that the American dream? If a poor, black, fatherless child can become the president of the most powerful country in the world, that dog don’t hunt. Or am I missing something?

Are you serious? Lets make it simple. Mr. Romney has a worth of 250 million. For the sake of the discussion lets say that is $250.00. You and I have a worth of 1 cent by comparison. He pays $2 dollars in taxes a year. I don’t think that is going to hurt. You and I only pay payroll taxes because WE DON’T MAKE ENOUGH TO HAVE TO PAY!!!. In the keg story lets use the same breakdown (only the keg doesn’t cost 200 million dollars, lets say it’s 2/100 of 1 cent. Do you think it’s bad for the guy with $250.00 to maybe help a friend out? It would make a better party!!
Yes, you can say we all have the same opportunities but……how come we all aren’t millionaires? Are you one?
It doesn’t bother me one bit that Mr. Romney is one. It doesn’t bother me that he pays 2 million in taxes. It does bother me that in proportion….he’s not really doing more than I am.
Job creator? Really?
