It’s really too bad more people don’t subscribe to this philosophy. Live and let live.

Although I am a firm believer that moms should stay home with the kids if only one parent needs to work, I want to give kudos to this family. There are probably more stay-at-home dads than we all think and I’m sure there are dads who have a whole lot more patience than their wives too which makes those dads a “better fit” for staying home with the little ones.
I also give kudos to any family who has chosen a life that allows one parent to be at home at all times. Those families clearly make wise [financial and other] decisions. We live in a society in which people think the nicest and biggest house, car, etc. are necessities. My family of 5 lives in an older home that is less than 1100 square feet and it works well for us. My husband and I won’t have to worry about what to do with the house after all of the chicks have left the nest either because it will be the right size for just the two of us also. Another plus is that we don’t have to make the financial sacrifices that some families have had to do because they chose to live in newer and much bigger homes that are significantly more to maintain. Don’t get me wrong. I do understand that there are families who can actually afford their super-sized homes, brand new cars, etc., but it’s the ones whose eyes are bigger than their wallets that I’m talking about.
Anyway, kudos to the Floden and other families who get to enjoy this lifestyle. I’m sure there are many who wish they could be in your shoes. Your family is very blessed.
