Both DNRs (WI & MN) promote the use of foot traps and snares as part of their wolf management plan with trappers required to check traps daily. Unfortunately we should expect those traps will be neglected for long periods of time with no way for the DNR to enforce this neglect.

I would hear or see wolves frequently west of International Falls. Now I don’t see or hear any. Every year we have some guy setting up snares. Private land or not. Can’t tell me he didn’t kill a wolf that was caught. He killed my dog on private land. Took all his snares and took off.

LEGAL hunt or not, if I see a wolf, the safety will come off immediately. Nuff said
