The way it should be. We should do away with the epa as well. It is in place because something like 4 states don’t have an environmental agency. We can still be responsible without some federal government agency giving us one size fits all regulations.

While in general I favor State’s rights over Federal rights, I can’t help but think this is a way to allow Fracker’s to bribe small-time officials instead of bribing more-expensive big-time Feds. It would seem to be easier for Frackers to poison the world when they can put states into competition with each other.
The Federal regulations on fracking are entirely inadequate, and Hoeven wants to gut them, so as to provide a free-for-all to the Oil Companies under cover of “state’s rights”.
Why aren’t the Frackers required to carry insurance against future environmental problems caused by fracking?
When the oil–and the frackers–are long gone from North Dakota, the environmental problems they left behind will still be with us. As usual, the taxpayer will get handed the remediation bill.
