In crummy economy, why is stock market suddenly soaring?
September 14, 2012 at 7:00 pm in West Central Tribune
WASHINGTON Economic growth is pitiful. Unemployment has topped 8 percent for an exhausting 43 months. The nation is careering toward a so-called fiscal cliff, and maybe a recession.

Some people could say Obama’s policies are not working, or we could say allowing the wealthy and wealthy corporations to pay less in taxes puts a burden of average Americans and the economy. There are some who don’t like the 40B injection of money into the economy and the feds keeping interest rates low, because they are concerned for the growth of their investment money. The bottom line is ,if this helps the job market so be it. We seen over a trillion in bailout money handed over to banks, insurance companies and other corporations with no over sight, plus the tax on the wealthy that has not produced jobs or jump started the economy as some claimed it would, what do we as Americans have to lose with this investment, especially with what is taking place in Europe with Europe bank?. It is also important to know our continued spending in the M.E war on terrorism has come with a high price, and until its over we will continue to spend.
Hot debate. What do you think?

Goodbye freedom have you noticed that any information posted critical of the Obama is given immediate thumbs down within the mourning hours. I suspect it is a government union group with just alittle too much free time on their hands. Only three posters but 34 + people voting. I am very suspicious that a group is coordinating to censor us, very desperate attempts to prop up the failed policies of president Obama. My advice to conservatves is to continue postingand post often to make them work hard in their coordination of censorship! I have asked areavoices to investigate these votes as, I believe many may come from a single computer network.

You see some people don’t view the M.E wars as all that expensive when it was estimated at 13B a month for the last 9yrs, but it goes deeper and more expensive then the money paid out to fight the war, its the expense for our Veterans after the war. Many soldiers need care for physical and mental issues, and these costs are not a part of the 13B monthly. Many veterans have a tough time adjusting to civilian life once they get home. Our soldiers also have to be reprogrammed to be able to adapt to civilian life because when soldiers go into the military they are broken down and rebuilt to adjust to military life. Combat soldiers see death and destruction and also live in fear of not returning home to their families which eventually does take its toll no matter who you are. Two of my friends who fought in Nam have never truly fully recovered from mental and physical injuries they suffered. One is blind in one eye and the other has cancer form exposure to agent orange. They are the ones who told me that the money spent initially on these two wars does not include after care, and they were upset with John McCain when he tried denying extended veterans care 5yrs in a row as a Senator. Funny they told me they never liked Obama until they found out as a Senator he had a better record of voting in favor of Veterans after care then McCain did! I think this infusion of money will find its way to many programs?

Same with me Mr. B. It started a few days ago. It’s hard to follow along when part of the dialogue is hidden. I wish they wouldn’t collapse comments. I think it is rude. If someone takes the time to post a comment instead of just hitting the like/dislike I think it should remain visible. Area Voices has the only sites that I read that does that. Why?

We have run up 5420625000000 dollars in debt that some one will have to pay! 5.4 dollars , TRILLION, that obama has run up to stimulate apparently wallstreet, not creating needed jobs!
I am glad JD and his silent partners love wall street, but mainstreet persons want a real job, not funding government workers the BIG OTHER BENEFICIARY OF HIS POLICY! I expect to get multiple negatives from his organized group but would welsome a real debate, which this site should encourage, not censorship! Conservatives do not despair by negative ratings but come out expressing beliefs beneficial for reflecting our American values, hard work yields riches. I have great employees many working for me their whole working lives, not because I am good looking because I am not, but because we mutually understand that hard work by them determines their economic status in other words their compensation. I grew up in the Litchfield, Wilmar area with existing economic interests and hope they understand this election will determine the economic future for our children and grandchildren. The socialism being preached by some will not improve your life if you believe in hard work without government dependence. If living off government whether on welfare or a government is your path to success vote for Obama the food stamp and welfare president but in a bankrupt country expect your children’s standard of living to decrease! It will! If you work for government, specifically in education, whom of you care we come in dead last in mathematics education, actually 25 of 34 in industrialised countries. So what right! Who will pay your pension with such decline as our economy will continue to decline and to the point tax payers may throw your pension subsidy of scarce state and federal funding under the bus. Get real leftys, these big deficits will eat all Americans alive in the near future, even you confident government union members! WE NEED A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS CLIMATE TO PROSPER!

Reality question, how many Americans were employed in January 2010 and how many Americans our working today? For all the jobs Obama claimed he created we still have less Americans working than when President Bush left office. Where are these magicial jobs?

Perhaps basket ball practice or chess club is taking up your time, but let us dabate the status of our economy since many believe wall street indicates president O’s economis success. Let us discuss how wall street success affects jobs in mainstreet! I grew up in this area still paying property taxes, so I believe I know this areas values.

We aren’t getting anywhere with new jobs being created. The few that are don’t even account for the new people entering the job market everyday. We aren’t getting lower unemployment numbers that is for sure.

devilschild good to see you around as our paths have not crossed recently. We all need to be concerned about americans that are no longer even looking for jobs. Real unemployment, counting the flood of Americans now getting disability and those who just are not looking anymore, means our unemployment is closer to 15%. I am particularly concerned with minority unemployment which I am afraid given their lack of opportunity and resulting despair will increase violence. The outbreak of youth flash mobs will surely get worse if unemployment continues at these levels. I share your concern!

Where are all my moderate to conservative friends that normally post on the Wilmar site? Have you become converts to liberalism or disinchanted by our former nagative reviews. Since I did not receive 20 censorship votes in the early mourning today, it is time to post your oppinions and if areovoices is doing due dilligence to fairness you will not be immediately silenced!

Jessie, I am glad your posting! Sometimes, however, the rating system is obviously regged. When 20-25 ratings happen in the early mourning hours for one side with no one posting, it is a corruption of the rating system. That is something I had noticed on the Wilmar site. This site is the only site location where this has recently happened and is a matter of concern on my part.
