How can this be. I thought Jamestown and Stutsman county was stagnant and would never get a major project like this? To you Jamestown haters, oh how sweet it is.
I have to admit after the ethanol plant fell through I was skeptical about paying for the rail loop. Well I was wrong and I’m glad to admit that. This is huge and shows why North Dakota’s economy is way ahead of any other state in the nation. This plant could of easily went to another state. Congrats to all involved for making this happen.

Want to know the crazy part of this. There is an additional plant this size also studying building out there. It would be built by the N.D. Corn Growers Association http://www.ndcorn.org/HTML/corngrowers.cfm

Hello All JSDC Here. We would like to clarify a couple of items. First their will be an ethanol plant built at the Spiritwood Energy Park (SEPA) Site. Dakota Spirit Ag Ethanol plant plans to break ground in December or early 2013.
Second in regards to another nitrogen fertilizer plant being built in the same area as the CHS plant, that is not the case. Only 1 fertilizer plant will be built in the SEPA park. The site is not able to accommodate 2 plants of that size.

Point #2 is rather short-sighted. If another company wants to build near there, I am sure there is land they can purchase. JSDC did a great job in landing this one, don’t close the door for another one if they want to build in our area. We need jobs, growth, and a positive movement to get Jamestown & the area to embrace change and growth. Don’t back off, keep pushing.

I will give the JSDC credit when/if both plants are up and running at full capacity and fully staffed with well paying jobs. Until then, there’s no reason to not be skeptical. It’s not like ethanol plants are a sure thing.
