Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tommy Thompson said it was a mistake for one of his top aides to send disparaging messages about his opponent Tammy Baldwin. Thompson said his political director should not have sent critical emails and tweets that showed Baldwin dancing at a gay pride event.

“However…YOU let…”
pssst, just thought you should know….one adult isn’t responsible for the words/actions/beliefs of another adult, unless some intimidation of force is being used or possibly as the result some contractual obligation….
and while I’m trying to clue you in to life… freedom of speech includes tolerating words that run counter to what you believe. Rather than trying to reframe Think Progress intolerance-baiting with an alternative source, why don’t you let others enjoy the same freedom of speech (and opinion) you enjoy?

Nice try Alice. Tommy T will win this by 15pts. Someone posted pics of Tammy B in a gay pride parade…..big deal. Didn’t she want to be seen there?

“Tommy would be aware of his campaign’s senior communications adviser’s tactics”
So “aware” is liberal code-speak for word / opinion / speech control, eh?
so why don’t you tell us how your belief that one person should be “aware” of horrible/offensive tactics by someone in their employ never seems to apply to ANY Democrat or someone in the alphabet-soup mainstream media?
Why do you want to control, or expect others to control, “tactics”, speech, beliefs? How about someone steps forward and controls your “tactics”…wouldn’t you just love that, dear?

“what seems acceptable behavior to Tommy ”
No dear, it seems you want to point out unacceptable behavior as determined by libs, ignoring the aides right to freedom (of even dumb and disagreeable) speech. If you want TT to control another’s words, than someone should control yours.
Don’t you think every life is better if he/she has a good job? And what is the #1 hinderance to job creation in this country? Increasing goverment regulation. And Tammy wants MORE regulations.
And you know what bothers me more than than a TT aide making some comment? A president who attends less than half of the National Security Briefing meetings, ignores 9-11 related threat warnings known 48 hours before the Benghazi embassy is overrun, and gets the MSM to report the attack is linked to some obscure you tube video. How many of the other video-related protests have included RPGs and machine guns? Have you seen the photos of the blody handprints on the embassy building corners where it appears people were trying to keep from being dragged away?
Gas prices bother me more than TT aide remarks. And thank you Obama. Your wish for $8/gallon gas gets closer all the time. But hey, great move denying the pipeline permits that would have brought jobs and cheaper gas to America.
And did you hear the MSM report the US bond rating has been reduced AGAIN as a result of QE3? Of course not, because people would have to hear again how Obama/Dem spending policy is screwing up this country, and future generations.
But I know sweets, you and the Dems have to make an issue of “unacceptable” behavior because to look at the real social and economic mess the Dems have created in this country would result in every progressive being voted out of office. You’ve managed to turn this into another “Squirrel” issue.

” I won’t vote for anyone who thinks that bringing up sexual orientation is acceptable in a campaign”
So, dear, you must not be voting for Tammy, because she brought up sexual orientation in her DNC speech:
“Our president has made historic progress toward equality. He repealed “don’t ask, don’t tell” so that no American ever again has to lie about who they are in order to serve the country we love. Republicans want to write discrimination into our Constitution. But the Wisconsin I know believes that with each passing year and each generation, our country must become more equal, not less. Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Scott Walker, Tommy Thompson—they think they’re the only ones who speak for Wisconsin”
Too bad your demands for “character” never extend to Dems. But then again, Alinsky rules demand the libs hold OTHERS to standards, along with promoting ridicule and lying.
And sweetie pie, “character” extends to ALL politicians (and actually all individuals), which is why the character of this President needs honest examination…and not the fairy tale story the MSM is promoting. Tammy has demonstrated her character is far left in lefty Dane Co, a disaster for this country and future generations if she wins the Senate race.
I don’t give a rats behind what some idiot staffer tweets, and I don’t pretend I’m so god-like I can decide whether the politician’s actions/responses are acceptable or not. I’m more concerned with the debt level of this country, security of this country, unemployment level, and spending programs that result in more people than ever on public assistance. If any discrimination law was broken, then jail the fool…otherwise I accept that freedom of speech extends to offensive speech and actions. grow up, precious.

As usual, your assumption is incorrect. My comment is being held up in moderation. BTW, when Baldwin’s “heartland values” don’t match 50% of WI voter values, just how can she be the poster child for “heartland values”?

Sorry Alice, as ridiculous as it may sound to you, over 50% of the state don’t agree with Tammy Baldwins POSTIONS on the economy. You are making a much bigger issue of ONE comment by a staffer, refuted by the candidate…
As with most comments made by anyone who doesn’t have a bleeding heart, spend more money than you…you make a bigger deal out of something even the media has forgotten. You are a poor example of a liberal, you really need to get on the real issues instead of making small ones into big ones.

Do you honestly think that “issue” will change a voter from republican to democrat? NO…Thompson refuted it. You’re just a miserably, unhappy person. You must live in a pretty faultless little world. What color is the sky there?

Gee wally, why are you attacking me personally again? I’m commenting on Tommy Thompson. And the “sexual orientation” issue. This is what the article is about, yes? Please go back to the beginning of this discussion, read and comprehend what has been said.
Maybe you should apologize for saying that “I’m just a miserably, unhappy person” because YOU happen to disagree with what I have to say, eh?

Sorry Alice…let me rephrase it. You APPEAR to be a miserably, unhappy person. I apologize for claiming something I really don’t know.
The article is NOT about Tommy Thompsons view on sexual orientation…not at all. I’ll reiterate so you don’t have to go back to read it. Thompson REFUTED everything his staffer said.
As much as Biden says dumber things and is the VP of the US, I’m surprised you haven’t been asking for Obama to step down. Really…its the same thing. Of course, in a liberal world, thats different.

I really shouldn’t laugh when I read an AA meltdown…but it’s funny.
Alice wrote: “I’m commenting on Tommy Thompson. And the “sexual orientation” issue. This is what the article is about, yes?”
Funny how the above rant has nothing to do with the topic…are you going to apologize for going off-topic?
Since you brought up Politifact, Alice dear, there are interesting rulings on tammy baldwin, the most liberal House member. Let’s not let pesky little facts get in the way, eh Tammy?

which of your links cover the issue of sexual orientation, precious? You’re just getting revved up with your tired old copy/paste routine as you’ve previously demonstrated. No original thoughts, Few original words. Take a break from the basement dear, and get some fresh air.
And while politifact uncovers interesting info, close reading of their articles usually reveals a bias.

And Walter, the main stream media has moved from collusion on Journolist to a new listserve: Media Elites of America. So people who only listen to the MSM think they are hearing the truth, not realizing they receive a scripted story.
One only has to look at the way Romney’s comments on Benghazi were attacked. Yet now with additional info it appears he not only analyized the situation correctly, he has a quicker and sharper analytical mind than Obama.
