Our view: Eleven years after Sept. 11, how many still remember?
September 10, 2012 at 7:00 pm in Duluth News Tribune
At 7:46 this morning let’s pause. Let’s just put on hold the scramble to get ready for another busy day. And let’s be silent, even if just for a minute or two. To recall that terrible moment, 11 years ago, that’s still a part of us, that won’t let go of us that we can’t allow to slip away. Let’s remember where we were, what we were doing and how we felt. How we didn’t comprehend. Couldn’t. Not at first. Not even now, really.

And let’s remember who our ememies are – radical Islamists.
They have gotten stronger since 2011 and now even control whole countries.

Pretty disturbing day.,
The President begins the solemn day cracking wise and trading football trash talk with a DJ named “Pimp the Limp”
Then crazed Islamists attack our embassies In Libya and Egypt and our State department apologizes…..TO THEM!!!!
—– The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims —-

Don’t forget President Obama released $1.5 billion to Egypt in foreign aid earlier this year because he deemed the country to be stable. Yes the money was already approved by Congress, but on hold since the whole Middle East was having it’s Arab Spring moment. We’re swimming in $16 trillion in debt and our president deems the muslim brotherhood controlled Egypt to be stable.

Interesting editorial response from the DNT to the worst foreign crisis in Obama’s term. They ignore it.

Between you and I, the White House released that message something like six hours before the assault.

The White House didn’t release it at all. Someone at the embassy did. Last night the WH claimed it specifically did NOT come from the WH and no one there authorized it.
But the next day sources at the Embassy stood by the message (i.e that the mob had in fact a good point that they understood) and Hillary reinforced that opinion earlier today.
To my knowledge the WH didn’t talk about the message AT ALL today.

Obama at 9/11 Memorial today: From CBS news, complete article below~
‘No Act Of Terrorism Can Ever Change What We Stand For’
Eleven years after the 9/11 attacks, President Obama says the country has emerged stronger, safer and more resilient.
“As painful as this day is and always will be, it leaves us with a lesson: that no single event can ever destroy who we are, no act of terrorism can ever change what we stand for,” the president said at a memorial ceremony at the Pentagon. “Instead, we recommit ourselves to the values that we believe in, holding firmly, without wavering, to the hope that we confess.”
Recalling a day “that began like so many others,” the president said, “It is easy for those of us who lived through that day to close our eyes and to find ourselves back there and back here, back when grief crashed over us like an awful wave, when Americans everywhere held each other tight, seeking the reassurance that the world we knew wasn’t crumbling under our feet.”
Since the terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people, the president said America has “dealt a crippling blow to the organization that brought evil to our shores.”
“Al Qaeda’s leadership has been devastated, and Osama bin Laden will never threaten us again,” said Obama, who also cited the end of the Iraq war and the transition in Afghanistan.
The president assured the victims’ families that “no matter how many years passed, no matter how many times we come together on this hallowed ground, know this, that you will never be alone.”
“Your loved ones will never be forgotten. They will endure in the hearts of our nation because through their sacrifice, they helped us make the America we are today, an America that has emerged even stronger,” he said.
After his remarks, the president and first lady spent close to an hour greeting the families of those who lost their lives in the attacks.
On their way back to the White House, the president and Mrs. Obama stopped at Arlington National Cemetery, where they visited the graves of service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. In the afternoon, the president went to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, meeting with 36 troops injured in combat and awarding two Purple Hearts.

To Dave~ It’s not like he was reading Duck Duck Goose why we were attacked. There is also news today that Bush had been aptly warned about the 9-11 attack specifically by Al-Queda.
Let’s also be clear who didn’t get Bin Laden or go after Al-Queda for this tragedy and instead used the trajedy to pursue own agenda. Let’s be clear who got Bin Laden and whose taken out more Al-Queda leaders in a 60 day period then Bush did in 7 years. Let’s be clear who instead focused on a second war based on lies that were transparent and blatant and who was the one of the few who saw the lies and did vote against attacking Iraq. Lastly let’s not forget who promised that Iraq had Nuclear weapons, that had undeniable proof of WMD, that the war in Iraq wouldn’t cost us anything and would pay for self and be over in 1 1/2 years and who said in 2003 that it was over and mission accomplished. Let’s also keep in mind the very act of attacking Iraq without real cause and lies and killing and maiming Iraqi’s has been a huge recruiting tool for Al-Queda.
“The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him.” George Bush on Sept. 13, 2001~~~~ “I don’t know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don’t care. It’s not that important. It’s not our priority.” March 13, 2002…George W. Bush after was given Congressional approval to invade Iraq.

Here’s a taste of what Bush was ignoring:
“The direct warnings to Mr. Bush about the possibility of a Qaeda attack began in the spring of 2001. By May 1, the Central Intelligence Agency told the White House of a report that ‘a group presently in the United States’ was planning a terrorist operation. Weeks later, on June 22, the daily brief reported that Qaeda strikes could be ‘imminent,’ although intelligence suggested the time frame was flexible.”
And, apparently, that administration ignored even more urgent warnings. Here’s the citation:

Hindsight is 20/20, of course, but if you want to bring up Clinton it only seems right.
