News reporters work hard to be unbiased, impartial and sans opinions. But even Minnesota Public Radio had to gush a bit last week when reporting about Mayor Don Ness’ proposed 2013 budget. Its story called the spending plan “another sign of Duluth’s ongoing fiscal turnaround.”

Quite affordable 1.6 percent increase..? For who, the individuals on limited retirement incomes here in Duluth? Along with all the other cost increases in society, the word you use is affordable, bunk..!

DNT….where does the figure of 16% property tax increase come from? Based on what information…..and from what source….and that sources information? Or is that some sort of intimidation tactic from City Hall…..IF, the City Council denies the transfer of funds for the pay-off of SOME of the bonding for past street improvements! We need a lot more information to base a good sound opinion or a decision…..about what you are telling us here! Can you do a bit more digging for answers about this?
