“A county administrator has all department heads reporting to him or her. A county coordinator, meanwhile, would be on the same level as the department heads, with all reporting to the county board.”——– As it SHOULD be!!!!!!!
“Whoever is hired as the new county administrator will report to the board, just as former administrator Mel Ruppert did.”—– I believe you must have missed the FACT that Ruppert did NOT report to the County Board, he DICTATED to them what was to be done.
That is exactly what caused this fiasco. WE elected the Commissioners to do their jobs and it’s dang well time that they do, by running the County responsibly and not allowing another dictator to garner more power than what is necessary to carry out the duties. I liked it when it was an elected position when Ken Roberts held the office. Job performance has responsibilities and elections have consequences!!!
