Did you guys really have nothing better to write about besides a couple of negative comments a small business owner made over FB?
Hot debate. What do you think?

I think it is impressive that the post got 100 comments and that’s why it made the news. It is human interest.

All I can say is WOW!!!! Who was Joy Havens cliental before the man camp came to town? Who were the people having weddings at their place of business? LOCAL… using the Limo service? LOCAL… To state that the elderly are not important without knowing what each and every person has been through in their life is insensitive, cold and callus. It is good that they have decided they don’t need the local community, They should follow the man camps when they leave since that is their community now… All for the almighty buck!!!

Nobody stated that the elderly are not important except for the writer of the reply before mine.

I get sick of old people, too. And young people. And men. And women. And locals. And out-of-towners. We all have times when we are sick of something or someone. The problem was putting it on a business facebook page, not a personal page. True, the business page should be more professional, but is it really such a big deal that it makes FRONT PAGE news!?!?? It’s funny that some teenager started this anti joy haven page. I wonder if people realize they are trying to shut down a local business based on a BORED TEENAGERS facebook experiment. True, the posts on joy havens facebook are kind of rude, but she is promoting her agenda by saying joy haven “wishes death on the elderly.” No they don’t. Some kid blew this out of proportion, and now it’s front page news. Sad.
BTW, I am so sick of news outlets covering facebook. Watching sports, the weather chanel, etc. they cut to their “social media correspondant” to fill us in on what people are saying on facebook or twitter. If I cared what people were saying on facebook or twitter, I would be online checking facebook or twitter, not watching the weather channel!

Quite honestly this must have been a real slow news day for something like this to make the front page. In a way, I guess that is good, since lately it has been things more important, like crime, growth and issues affecting everyone’s life in western ND. His ability to make comments like that is what makes this country great – even though I completely think he has lost his mind.
Don’t like what he has to say, don’t spend any money at his place of business. This certainly should not have been front page news, quite honestly should not have made legitimate press and should have been lost in the world of Facebook.

Is the guy that owns Joy Haven the one who used to own Music Mart quite a few years back? Or am I wrong?
