Ya, dis is Duluth, we don’t like what we don’t already know. No need for anything new here…..especially someplace where smart people will go and have a nice refined experience.

Interesting experiment going on here. Can you build a sustainable saloon based economy?
Hot debate. What do you think?

Love that typical area voices “charm” as a welcome here. I think it is a decent Idea that has a chance to work out. Many people said black water with it’s $7 drinks would not fly. I do share some concern that the mid-scale bar market is getting a touch over saturated in downtown but we will see how it pans out. A lot of exciting places have opened up since bars could stay open till 2 am. It’s been what ten years since we all hit the bridge on the weekends to go to soup-town?

And just a reminder, a growing night scene tagged with a growing arts community usually means a city that is healthy and happy. It’s not the end all for people choosing Duluth to live in but I have a lot of cities friends that recently have said they are now jealous they didn’t stay and try to work things out here. Jobs are a big thing in keeping younger folks but so is a nightlife. I hope the wine bar makes it

Debbie Downers… Nothing but Debbie Downers.
There really is no place like this in Duluth, and these kind of things thrive in smaller cities than Duluth everywhere.
Plus, it is keeping the money instate.

To see any business open in town should be welcomed! This new venture is going into a small space that formerly employed less than they will employ however there are a few here that just hate to see/admit the economy is getting better and downtown is a sure sign of the times. Also? at $5.00 a glass it could generate a nice chunk of change for the tax coffers!

The photo: Isn’t it against the law to have an open container on a public sidewalk? Oh that’s only if it’s in a paper bag.

I have a prescription for medical wine. The doctor says it wil get rid of my beer belly. I hope it’s on the wine list there.
