Seems to me this is antithetical to so many Indian beliefs:
Respect for food, respect for the animals whose life you take for your food, respect for yourself.

Please explain why this record breaking event is so disrespectful? They broke a record, fed a lot of people and gained some media exposure. Moreover, what makes you an expert on Native American beliefs in the first place? BTW, “Indian” is considered to be an offensive term by many Native Americans.

Natives I know prefer to be called American Indians and I have honored them by referring to them as they wish. And I got this from the elders.

Actually, gathering a lot of food and sharing it with friends and family is very core to the Native American’s belief/culture.
That’s why most gatherings begin with a feast.
Of course, if you really meant Indian beliefs, you’d probably be correct, since cows are considered sacred in many parts of India.

I’m not exactly sure why you’d refer to it as a disgusting mess, unless you are a vegan.
I wasn’t able to attend but, from what I heard from folks that did go, pretty much the whole thing was given out and eaten.

Not sure why people are saying gross or this is wrong. It fed how many people there. Whats the difference if they make it 1200 individual burgers or all at once?

No thanks LOL. But just on the other side of the freeway there is a Junction Oasis truck stop. That place has great food and unlike a lot of restaurants in the Duluth and surrounding area, you leave full.
