As my grandkids will tell you: this old lady has seen a few things in her day. But NEVER have I seen the incivility so rampant in political supporters as the past few years. Since when did SHOUTING make what you say right? Since when did it become acceptable to win your battles by drowning out the comments of your “foe”? This is truly sickening behavior, and no cause for being proud of yourself. Grow up.

Politics has always been hardball. But in my lifetime, the real change in the yelling you see came along with Candidate Clinton’s War Room. James Carville, Paul Begala and the rest of the war room cast brought about a seachange in the way political campaigns were run and opponents being destroyed.

I forgot to add anonymity. People say things in groups at speeches or online because they think they are anonymous. They lose all sense of manners or politeness.
For example, rebel in a comment, about the article
“Bills, Klobuchar race enters more aggressive stage,” stated “Kurt Bills would be nothing more than a sock puppet for the American Taliban.” Most people wouldn’t say that if people knew who they were. That’s my opinion. Rebel would probably disagree.
