Football is the only NCAA Division I sport that is divided into two levels, the one that fills 100,000-seat stadiums and the one that gets no respect. Continue Reading

Bohl’s Bison know all about a lack of respect. Their championship banner for winning last season’s FCS title was mistakenly mailed to the University of North Dakota.
Oh yes, well c’mon. I mean really. The Bison? How forgettable is that….its just lame-o.
They should have named the team acter great warrir tribe or a great and proud race or culture…. You know….something like……..
The Fighting Irish….or something like that.
Hey…. Since the u is in “North DAKOTA”
Maybe a local native american tribe would be honored by the use of their name?

FBS/FCS what a bunch of baloney.
Anyone who thinks for one second that FCS is anything more than 1-AA is delusional.
I dont know why they bothered to change it in the firat place, as long as you hand out two top awards, they are not equals.
The fact that UND is really nothing more than 1-AA will not stop me from attending every home game this season and cheering for them.
Time to do away with the charade and call the duck a duck.
Or send LSU and Alabama up here to play in the Alerus center and give UND an upset opportunity.

Notice the art. refers to the coaches of other sports that are saddled with the football division split which isn’t accurate for the other sports classification. Eg. UND is not a second division school in basketball, golf, swimming, tennis, baseball, volleyball, soccer etc. That is because, as far as I know, the limitations on scholarships for these other sports doesn’t exist. IOW UND as a D-1 school can win the real national championship in every sport besides football just like it does in hockey. That is what is so hard for recruits to understand & therefore coaches don’t like being connected to football’s 2 division naming problem.
