Power outage in Grand Forks affects 1,700 early Saturday

About 1,700 Excel Energy customers in Grand Forks were affected by a power outage early today, according to an Excel representative. First Guess: The affected section of town is on the same weak, old grid that has been a problem for twenty years or better. There’s never a power failure on the other side of my street–but the side I’m on has had dozens of outages. About time Xcel refurbishes this section of the grid.
