“Caya pledged to make repairs but said he needed time to do so.”
The roof has been leaking for several years, and inspectors have repeatedly fined and warned him for years before finally condemning the building in early July. He’s now had 6 weeks since the condemnation notice to make repairs. If Mr. Caya were a truly concerned and competent landlord, 6 weeks would be enough time to re-roof the building, or at least have it in progress, but he keeps dragging his feet. This guy is a fraud, there’s no reason to accept his appeal since he won’t make the repairs until he is absolutely forced to.
