Two years ago, Calibur11 in Duluth did what any other cash-strapped manufacturer looking to prune costs would do: Turn to China. But the maker of game console cases is shifting its manufacturing operations back to the U.S. Continue Reading

They learned an expensive lesson that a little common sense would’ve taught them for nothing.

I am sorry but I cannot feel sorry for these companies that willingly shipped there production over seas, leaving millions of workers behind. The drive for low costs has devastated many communities within the US. My hat goes off to those companies that willing dug in and made a committment to keep production here and to their workers.

Well put comment Mark however in this economy we have to take what we can get, or in this case get back. I hope more and more companies realize like Dan said that it was a expensive lesson and could have been diverted with common sense that cost nothing. However the thing we need to do as a country is make these companies feel welcome to come back and bring our jobs with them. I hope Calibur11 and 3M are 2 companies that start a total snowball effect of companies moving back here.
Welcome back calibur11 and 3M !!

Employers who turn to foreign labor aren’t “cash-strapped.” They’re greedy.
I’m happy it didn’t work out for them.

3M went to Missouri- I would make a bet that most of those jobs coming back will go into the osuthern states where they are non-union

I hope these companies that bring production back to the U.S. because of the bizarre frauds, theft of intellectual (and physical) property and bribery in China aren’t the same ones boo-hooing about business regulations here every election cycle.
