The largest massacre of Native Americans took place @ Whitestone Hill in N. Dak. the next summer as Gen. Sibley came upon an encampment by Lisbon, ND & assumed the Natives were remnants of the Sioux from the Dakota Uprising of 1862 in SW Mn. 300-400 men,women& children were slaughtered & 1000s of lbs. of Bison meat was destroyed.
