Primary defeat: Longtime DA loses to political newcomer

Sean Froelich, a law school graduate with no prosecutorial experience, handily defeated longtime Pierce County District Attorney John O’Boyle in Tuesday’s primary election. When unofficial total results were posted shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Froelich had out-scored O’Boyle 859 to 593.

This is good to see. When someone holds a position too long, they become one sided too often. I feel that it would be a good thing, to have a new DA in the county. A fresh look at things is needed, especially when one becomes a fixture of the system. Best of Luck to Froelich. Best of Luck to O’boyle in his future, wherever it may be.
