“Environmental groups had sued arguing that the plan would result in increased off-highway vehicle traffic in the national forest, including areas directly adjacent to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.” Adjacent to? So what? The BWCA has a border and its rules restricting motor vehicles do not apply beyond those borders.

I agree, what’s wrong with ATV riders enjoying parts of the forest OUTSIDE of the BWCA?

Mike, I think some wish that the BWCA expanded to fill the entire SNF — or maybe more. Note how the Friends and the friends of the friends fight anything even remotely close to the BWCA. They wish for a de facto if not a de jure expansion of this preserve.
