East Grand Forks changes pool plans

Repairing the swimming pool didn’t even come to a vote of the East Grand Forks City Council on Tuesday. That’s because supporters of the $1.9 million project knew that Mayor Lynn Stauss had enough votes to sustain his veto of the renovation. Continue Reading

Look at the color of that magnificent water. The EGF outdoor pool is feasible for a city that size and ain’t going anywhere. Excellent.

I climbed the fence and snuck into the pool twice after dark to swim. I did it. It was fun. And I don’t regret it.

I did the same at Riverside about 40 years ago only we pulled the bottom out and climbed under….Some time later some kids were caught and they upgraded the fence…

New renivations huh? Like a swim up bar, a side jaquzzi, a replica of an Alcapulco cliff to dive off with a water fall, and maybe one of those big loop to loop water slides…..Granted we’re now going into full blown water world type of stuff that because of the cost would need to be an indoor outfit, but then you’d have a year round tourist attraction that would bring people as far as Argyle or Stephen to play………Or just a regular pool would be nice too…..But I think a swim up bar would still be a must….

Congratulations and Thank You to the SOP Team in East Grand Forks. You guys have done an amazing job of creating awareness about the pool project. You have preformed a great effort in supporting the community and working with the city in orchestrating options for a better pool and more possibilities than ever imagined. Great job! I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Thanks TLC! There are a lot of individuals with some GREAT ideas that could help move this project along while saving the taxpayers a lot of money. Very glad that Mike Pokrzywinski suggested a timeline so the city can put some options together and plan for this type of project and all involved can plan and investigate how to raise the needed funds.
