Great freaking show.
As expected, 4on the Floor put on a good show as well as Pert Near Sandstone. But the real gem was the headliners; Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers.
I have always known that Martin played the banjo, and played it well. But he lit the stage on fire at times with his banjo licks. Martin still has a solid stage presence and his on stage shtick is as funny as ever. Had a couple of jokes that left me and the rest of the crowd laughing well into the next song.
I had never heard of the Steep Canyon Rangers prior to this show, but I can tell you I will be looking into them more now. Bluegrass fan or not, they were amazing. Their fiddle tore it up in the encore and the rest of the band are equally talented.
Now I know it is blasphemous around here to say this, but they blow Trampled By Turtles out of the water. That should not be considered an insult to Trampled, as Steep Canyon Rangers are grammy winning artists.
