Local view: Nanny state in Washington can’t solve local health-care problems

As a physician who has been in practice for 27 years including private practice for 17 years, in consultancy at a veterans administration hospital for five years and the past 9½ years as an employee of a local hospital I have a different perspective than some of my colleagues whose opinions recently have appeared on News Tribune Opinion pages.

so as it stands health care is too expensive to have your mother receive care but something that would reduce that you do not favor. And i HIGHLY doubt doctors/physicians are going to open up free clinics and work for nothing. I mean its pretty obvious that wont happen to the extent you would need to replace Obamacare since we have a shortage of doctors willing to work in areas that dont pay as much. We have a ton of specialists and a shortage of general practice doctors for one reason only…the money!!! They believe the money isnt good enough in general practice yet you think they are going to work in free clinics???

and of course you (as a doctor) are going to want tort reform since it affects your bottom line….i thought doctors were all about the patients, but when they screw up on said patients they shouldnt be compensated?
