I have seen far too many instances of cars passing on the left, and at the last minute, cutting across to take this exit to River Falls. I don’t know if that is what happened today, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

So, to those who disagreed with the above statement, I’m curious as to why you disagreed. I based it on what was reported by the HSO (which I agree was incorrect).

They were not going to River Falls, so they were not going on that exit. Maybe going to fast, maybe not paying enough attention. An accident, all things we have done. Especially as a teenager. So sad.

While that is a very true statement, this accident occurred closer to milepost 6 not Exit 3. Given all the road construction in the area its probably related more to traffic slow down and people not paying attention. Its sad and really doesn’t matter how it happened.

Patch says the accident was near milepost 5; traffic was routed off I-94 at exit 3 than back onto the freeway at the Roberts interchange. I agree that this was more likely related to the construction zone and someone not paying attention.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends and community of these young men.

Hey there Carbonbigfoot, how about we don’t make this about YOU and just send prayers/well wishes to the families, friends, classmates, and teammates of all that were affected by this tragedy!

It never was about me. I was speculating on a potential cause of the accident, based on what was reported in this paper. Now that the facts of the accident have been confirmed, that speculation was incorrect. It is surely a sad day for the families and friends of these kids.
