Some of the legislators’ questions show such a lack of experience. It’s not the auditor’s job to “emphasize that no fraud was found.” Auditors report their findings in a way so uniformly that it’s useful to administrators and finance people. This might be confusing to some casual readers, but the fact that many legislators can’t interpret this stuff is a little embarrassing. There should be uniformity as to “what appears inappropriate” to Bob Martin and everyone in the room.

What do you expect from citizen legislators whose idea of a profit and loss statement is, ‘Is there money in the checkbook after planting the fields?’
