Thank you for clarifying those two “issues”, Gerald. And your point about checking the accuracy of emails before forwarding them is a good one. It’s usually neither difficult nor time-consuming to fact check first.

The writer’s absolutely correct and I thank him for setting the record straight. We’re good now, Mr. Christoffer?
I’m sure we’ve all received forwarded emails promising get-rich schemes, medical cures, or political messages, etc., that in the end turn out to be “fact-challenged”. Thanks to the Internet, it takes only a minute or so to verify the information before forwarding it on.
People who blindly forward “junk” run the very big risk of looking very stupid when, as it often turns out, their “facts” aren’t accurate. And certainly one of the recipients will be happy to point this out to them.
The sad thing is that the REST of the recipients might not get the corrected information and will continue to take the “junk” as gospel, so the well is still poisoned. And they’ll forward it on to everybody in THEIR mailing list!
