They are all part of the problems the county is going through! Time for change across the board.

I would have to disagree about keeping the 3 county commissioners. These are the same people that lied to the county and did not feel they needed to tell the truth that they kept Mel around for $150,000 while they claimed he retired. Commissioner Benson is the chairman, he should be held responsible for blatantly lying and keep things from the people he is elected to represent.

Yep, they gotta go. We should not take the “easy way out” and re-elect these incumbents. They’ve had an opportunity — for years — to move this County forward and have failed to show leadership and determination.
4 current commissioners are seeking re-election. 1 (Diane) is retiring. So, following the writer’s logic, 60% of the board would remain in place, bringing in just 2 new faces (and ideas, presumably).
The talent pool is not that shallow in Nobles County, as evidenced by the slate of candidates running this year. The only way to restore public confidence in the Board is to start fresh.
Benson has been on the board since 1993. Zylstra since 2003. NOBODY deserves a “job for life”.

Re-elect? Uhhhmm, NO!!! Has ANYONE heard any of these people apologize to the public for allowing this to go on so long? Has ANYONE heard from them, explaining to us WHY it went on so long? Or WHY he got a new contract AFTER he was “retired” (wink-wink)??? No, there isn’t a DA?? one of them that deserves to be re-elected. THEY were to be acting in the best interest of the counties tax payers and FAILED!!
