McCain defends Clinton aide against allegations from Rep. Bachmann
July 18, 2012 at 8:53 am in West Central Tribune
WASHINGTON (AP) Republican Sen. John McCain on Wednesday strongly defended a longtime aide to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton against unsubstantiated allegations that her family has ties to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, repudiating charges leveled by another Republican, Rep. Michele Bachmann. Continue Reading

OMG, what is wrong with Bachman? This women becomes more radical by the year and seriously needs to be investigated herself. Even McCain realizes Bachman is out of line and its good he came to the defense of this aid. I really believe there should be a call from both parties to ask Mrs Bachman to step down and retire… Bachman is an anchor around the neck of the Republican party and is a disgrace to the party period.

I agree Roger, and from all appearances Bachman is a decent looking lady who seems pretty intelligent, until you hear her rant about certain issues and policies. Palin appeared the same way and because of her relentless mud throwing and lack of acknowledge regarding certain topics, she hurt McCains chances at becoming President. Are we getting into the era where Mcarthyism is taking hold within the Republican party? Its bad enough 911 cast a derogatory view of Middle Eastern people, who some want to label terrorists as soon as they hear their name, but to suggest our officals within our government have ties to radicals without proof is pure reckless behavior that should be dealt with. I believe Bachman should be called in front of a disciplinary ethics panel and asked to give the panel her proof of these accusations which can not only be considered slanderous but totally destructive to the office of Secretary of State, and Hillary Clinton. Seriously this women really needs to step down, she is not working in the best interest of the Republican party or the state of Minnesota.

Leroy how is this a sexist comment? Just because someone compliments someone sayin they are decent looking and supposingly intelligent is not sexist. Now if I stated she was a fox, or a hot babe then yes, you could say sexist. If you believe this is the case then that is your opinion, but if the Tribune thought I was out of line and being sexist they would have removed the comment….

Do I agree with everything anyone does? Certainly not. Do you really know what is in someones glass when you did not fill it? Certainly not. Can you condone a politician repeatedly embarrassing themselves, their constituents, their State, and their Country? Certainly not!

“Huma Abedin’s father, Syed Z. Abedin, was a professor in Saudi Arabia who founded the Institute for Muslim Minority Affairs, an organization supported by the Muslim World League, a Brotherhood organization. Her mother, Saleha Mahmoud Abedin, is a member of the Muslim Sisterhood, the Brotherhood’s adjunct organization for women. The Brotherhood itself is in its own words, according to a captured internal document, dedicated to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house.”

While investigating Huma Abedin’s husband Anthony Weiner last year, Eilen F. Toplansky at American Thinker reports:
“Far more disturbing than the salacious details of Weiner’s dalliances is the fact that apparently his mother-in-law is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Furthermore, Huma Abedin’s brother, Hassan, “is listed as a fellow and partner with a number of Muslim Brotherhood members……..”
“Which should now raise even greater concerns since Huma Abedin-Weiner is the deputy chief of staff to Hillary Clinton, the United States Secretary of State. Did any vetting occur by Clinton’s people concerning Huma Abedin, her brother Hassan, or her mother Saleha Mahmoud Abedin, and any connections with known Islamists, particularly the Muslim Brotherhood?”

It is pretty clear that several members of her immediate family are deeply committed to a terrorist organization. Is that not worth looking into?

Leroy the fact remains Bachman made allegations that are unfounded and should be investigated for liable. Bachman is trying to destroy a persons career and undermine the Secretary of state which is based on her opinion, and not hard facts otherwise McCain and Bohner would not have publically called Bachman out on her report. When you accuse someone of having terroristic ties then you better have proof and be able to name a creditable source, or face disciplinary sanctions or termination from her position on the intelligence panel. Hopefully this enlightens you to way she should be investigated.

Book smart…brain dead…applies well here. Michelle Bachman was appointed to a 12 member intelligence committee. Why is she acting on her own? Why?…because she has her own agenda. That is what get’s her into trouble. She isn’t interested in what is best for the country. She is thinking about herself. She has it in her head that she is presidential material. Really? Where did she get that idea?
Hillary Clinton isn’t perfect but she has learned alot over the years. She has performed well as secretary of state. I can’t fault her there. I do believe she should stand on her own and not be dragged down by any of her husband’s mistakes. She has proven to me that she is a trusted political figure.

Wrong leroy, Obama used his intelligence to appoint her to a position he knew would best fit her abilities. After all this was a bitter loss for Hillary when she lost the Democratic nomination after a hard fought close race to Obama. Now Obama respected her, and she has shown why she was the best person for this position. What you don’t hear from Hillary is outrageous, misleading, and reckless comments like those you hear from Bachman.

Bachman is engaging and going down the same road as former Senator Mcarthy did when he ruined the reputations of many of those he falsely claimed were unAmerican, and were Communists. Even movie directors were thrown under the bus by the Mcarthy’s witch hunting posse, that went untouched and were not held accountable for his destructive and vindictive behavior. This guy was in the dictionary under scare tactics and paranoid. Mcarthy lacked creditable evidence and even implied wording that had nothing to do with Communist behavior, and had the media hanging on every word making it appear there may have been some improper and sinister behavior by those he publically accused. Mcarthy’s attacks on political foes which we unsubstantiated often questioned ones Patriotism. Mcarthy spared no expense at accusing union activists, government employees, and even entertainers. Mcarthy took full advantage of peoples suspicions at that time and used this to deal out revenge in some cases. Those falsely accused, lost their jobs, respect within the communities, and were even imprisoned until many of these trial by words were ruled unconstitutional and those jailed were released. This appears to be the road Michelle Bachman is on, but with the laws and the civil liabilities being more pursued to vindicate those whose reputations are damged due to false accusations you better have creditable and reliable information. First we had Communism, now its terrorism, and so it goes, fear, accusations, and a lack of evidence that seems to mean little when you use the word Terrorism.

BOEHNER DECIDES TO JUST TALK FOR SOME REASON
Allegations that State Department official Huma Abedin is part of a conspiracy by the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate the U.S. government are “pretty dangerous,” House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio). said Thursday.
Boehner told reporters that he hadn’t read letters from five Republican lawmakers detailing the allegations against Abedin and her family’s alleged ties to the Islamic group. She is a senior aide and deputy chief of staff to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
“I don’t know Huma. But from everything that I do know of her, she has a sterling character, and I think accusations like this being thrown around are pretty dangerous,” Boehner said.
So Boehner doesn’t know what the letters say, he doesn’t know Huma Abedin, but he nevertheless feels a need to make a statement.
Who does Boehner think he is? Obama

After reading the responses on this thread I realize on question needs to be asked: when did it become illegal to be Muslim? Her mother & father were Muslims who belonged to Muslim political organizations.
This type of nonsense should sound familiar to anyone of my parents generation. It is the same nonsense the House UN-American Activities Committee used to spew.
Come to think of it, if you put her picture next to Joe McCarthy’s, there is a resemblance.

It doesn’t just occur with Bachmann (nuttiest of the group), but look at Mittens and his campaigns comments. He uses “Foreign” an awful lot in his speeches. His advisor even said Obama “needs to learn to be American” (guess he should have offshore bank accounts to fit in more). This is classic Red scare tatics to paint anyone that is different as UN-American. I’m just waiting for the day, the GOP have so many flag pins on their suit coats, it looks like they work at T.G.I.Fridays.

Why do you hate the USA M&M? Why is it you hate people who are supportive and loyal of this great country? Your mumbo jumbo is just as bad (if not worse) then what you accuse the Republicans of saying and doing.
If you expect to be treated better treat others better M&M.
