Awww, c’mon. Power outages are a great way for people to reflect on how horrible a world past peak-oil production will be.
Hot debate. What do you think?

…while reflecting on how misguided we have been to avoid converting to nuclear power.

I will turn my thermostat up to 77 degrees right after MP turns their offices up to 77 degrees. Not gonna happen, they’ll keep their chilly 64 degree office and expect me to sweat through my dinner. Fat chance.

How many homes in Duluth even have A/C?

Is it just me, or does this seem to be a day late? Agreed on nuclear power…seems to be ironically the best of many bad options at the time.

With all of the water waiting to get through many of MP’s dams why should we have to conserve around here? I agree if they can prove they shut off the A/C and half the lights in their buildings it may convince me to turn down my A/C I already run the florescent bulbs. how about the city govt doing their part and shutting off some lights? No matter what we do they are not going to lower their inflated rates, according to my bill this month I used the exact same amount of power as last year yet my bill is up nearly $25.00 compared to last year!

Understand, it is not there isn’t enough for you and I but how much they want to sell to the grid. MP feels we pay to little so sell in grid at high rate..
Transmission grids are like pipelines, sell your product at the highest price, not locally.

I totally conserved energy today. I used my manual, old fashioned toothbrush instead of my battery operated one.
