j d Could all be as you posted as a member of the liberal party ‘ The Mn.DFLers’ but as always you FORGOT to mention the number one reason and really the only reason for the BAN, and that is the Safety of Membership . As a scout in the 30′s and 40′s ( and I pray the same today) , along with all the others ones (ages 12-18), we ALL felt safe and secure after a sport MEETING in the Gym at the public school , as we all jumped in the shower, the same is true at Scout camp, as we ALL jumped in the lake after dark. SWIM trunks! who are you fooling? In those years who had the money for swim suits? WE all jumped in with what we all had on when we came into this world. Being safe, and secure while having FUN is a good part of being a SCOUT.

Why do young boys have to proclaim their sexual preference at scout camp? What’s the matter with “don’t ask, don’t tell” for boy’s in the boy scouts? I suspect that is the current situation. Why is it a must to portray any sexual preference at camp when it is supposed to be a fun innocent time?

It’s nice to see the Boy Scouts and the Catholic Church giving pedophiles a safe place to spread their wings and teach their perversion without fear of reprisal. I left the scouts early on after an “encounter” with our scout master in his “model train room”… right here in good old Willmar. Not to mention the church I went to covered up and shuffled their sexually abusive priest all around the county (thank god he liked girls) before sending to do his “thing” in south america. Yeah. Blame the gays. Sickening.

Sexual abuse is a wide spread problem and is unacceptable whether a church, or a university. Although the Catholic Church coverup was wrong, I believe it was a small % within the church. Church leadership should be able to comment on moral issues within this country. Those that imply all church leaders are guilty of pedophilia and its coverup, I do not believe fair! It is an attempt to silence their opposition!!

The reason there are so many different denominations of churches is in part because one group of people disagreed with another group of people. There is nothing out there that states that a group of people who disagrees with the boyscouts cant start there own group. Why must you force your beliefs and morals on me or my organization. There are already many different church orgaizations (Royal Rangers, Iwanas, Cadets) who have started there own groups because the disagree with some of what the Boy Scout are about. Why not people who believe Gays should be allowed in their group?

The Boy scouts is a private organization that gets to decide appropriate behavior! Gays want civil rights protection that I believe is appropriate for employment, housing and civil treatment but not for an endorsement of behavior many believe is anti-religion and an abomination to reasonable public health!! I fully support the Boy Scout position and am adamently unapologetic to those ” tolerant”" liberals who are offended!!!
