School board investigation finds Gehrke acted improperly

An independent investigation requested by the Hudson School Board has found that board member Sandy Gehrke violated several board policies by speaking directly to a district employee about a personnel issue. Continue Reading

Well, I’m glad we got that cleared up. Now can the board and administration start doing their jobs – i.e., figuring out how to best educate our children? The Peyton Place monkeyshines of our board and administration for the past 10 years have been unproductive and downright embarrassing for our community. In fact, let’s just fire them all and start over with a fresh batch.

For some reason I suspect Ms. Gehrke is exactly what the school board needs.

It would appear that Ms Gehrke who as already received a fine by the State of Wisconsin for ethics violations as a realtor has decided to carry on her unethical behavior over to her position on the Hudson School Board.

This investigation is reminiscent of the Clinton administration…..if you can’t defend yourself against the accusations (in this case against the administration), then discredit the accuser. This is the oldest trick in the book and it is pathetic.
The board did not have to go public with this, but couldn’t resist the opportunity to smear Gehrke. If she needed correction, fine. As a new board member I would think they might have had a better way of dealing with the situation. They don’t like her opinions or her willingness to march to a different beat. This ‘investigation’ only reinforces what so many already think about the district administration and school board.

I think Sandy was just trying to do a good job. Getting the facts helps. It does make you wonder what the board is trying to hide. I’d say she did ok even though she got chewed out.

Getting facts in an appropriate manner is the whole point here. She acted inappropriately. And what are the ‘facts’ she is looking for? If employees have complaints perhaps they should bring them to the entire boards attention. It would seem that Ms. Gehrke was the one on the witch hunt.
Being on the school board in Hudson appears to me to be one of the most thankless, frustrating and anxiety producing activities one could participate in. Must be the high pay they get…………………………….not.
