The first signs of the 2012 River Falls Days community festival themed this year as Kinnistitious turned up over the weekend and on Monday as people began putting their blankets, chairs and other placeholders out on the curb along Second and Main streets as people claimed their spot along the parade-watching route. I do not know why this is even allowed! I no longer go to the parade because of this.

Boo Hoo- god forbid that someone saves a spot so their children can have a decent spot to watch the parade. My 3 year old LOVES watching the bands so we save a spot where they will play. Find something better to whine about.

I think it is a unique and enjoyable tradition. We try to get a spot in the same area each year. It is perhaps silly, but that is part of what these celebrations are for. Anyone want to challenge me to a Best Maid cookie eating contest?
