If I understand the author correctly they are defining hypocracy as a widening gulf between the haves & have nots. If this is accurate then he/she is correct.
Under this definition America has always been hypocritical. So has every other country in the world.
It is not that this divide exists, but the degree that is concerning. Whenever the difference becomes too great, society resets itself.
In other countries this takes the form of revolution & political chaos. In America it is usually an economic reapportionment.
Prior to the Great Depression the difference between the have & have nots was very similar to today. When the bottom fell out no one was left unaffected.
Following that cataclysm it took a World War to regain our equilibrium. This is one instance where I hope the past does not repeat itself.

What! I thought Obama was going to fix all that. The fact that he has strapped us with more harsh federal mandates shouldn’t surprise anyone.

Becky Ylitalo doesn’t realize that Obamacare is the law of the land now. The Chicago machine will now dictate her health care.

I don’t know why I bother, but, Kevin, the heart of Obamacare is reliance on PRIVATE insurance. Insurance exchanges will be made up of PRIVATE companies competing against each other for our businss. Just like Romneycare. And Chicago is a nice town, but it will have nothing to do with this.
