St. Croix, Pierce communities reflect state, national trend in business declines
June 29, 2012 at 11:08 am in Hudson Star-Observer
St. Croix and Pierce counties reflect a business closure pattern seen across the region and nation since 2007 with St. Croix losing 119 businesses and Pierce, some 50 businesses. Meanwhile, Polk County lost 90 firms and Dunn County, 24. Continue Reading

This article examines the loss of businesses with paid employees in St Croix and Pierce counties between 2007 and 2010. Scott Walker was sworn in as Governor on January 3, 2011, so it’s unlikely he had anything to do with job losses or job creation in Western Wisconsin before that. It’s also unlikely you are cognizant of the fact the recession reduced revenues and tax receipts to the state resulting in a budget shortfall that had to be made up with more taxes and/or less spending.
One of the reasons Tom Barrett lost to Governor Walker in the recall election by a bigger margin than before is he couldn’t explain how he would balance the budget without Act 10. Even “independents” are hip to the fact this means higher property taxes, fewer jobs and less money for everybody except democrat rent seekers like public employee unions and fatcat political crony’s.
Act 10 saved the jobs of thousands of public school teachers and state employees who would have been laid off under collective bargaining rules and mentality that says better to get rid of the least senior members before you take one penny from the most senior. Tell us again how well the economy does under democrat policy prescriptions like the “stimulus,” higher energy prices and regulatory micro-management.

Ah, the 8-1 spending myth.
How much did the unions spend on the recall, and why doesn’t that money count towards Barrett’s total?

Sure…if you ignore the math errors in the original article that spurred this myth. (Center for Public Integrity…ha ha.) It’s as if not a single person donated to Barrett without it going into union coffers first.
And it’s nice that all the donations to Walker were VOLUNTARY.
Stay true your convictions Alice and realize then that Obama is Pres only because he outspent McCain.

Hey Alice. You lost twice now. Suck it up and get over it. No body wants to hear your uneducated criticisms anymore. By the way while you are doing your math, check out the vote count. Walker received more votes than any other gubanatorial candidate in Wisconsin history.
