What does Kangaroo Court refer to? Does it refer to Chief Justice Roberts’ leadership and the fact that he wrote the majority opinion? Who appointed Justice Roberts? Oh, yeah, President George W. Bush.

Who cares? We’re going to keep the House, take the Senate, and throw Obama out in November. Then we’ll repeal the whole thing.

And we’re going to South Dakota and Oregon and Washington and Michigan. And then we’re going to Washington, D.C. to take back the White House, Yeeeeeaaaaaargh!”
Ha ha…good luck with that!

The Supreme Court decision makes Obamacare the central issue in the 2012 election, just like it was in the 2010 election. And we know how that turned out.

I am a military reservist and I love my single-payer government healthcare (Tricare). Further, I don’t know anyone who doesn’t.

Your comment has nothing to do with the topic. Obamacare is not single payer government healthcare.

That’s only because the uninformed tea party and the blue dog democrats blocked the sigle payer system in exchange for the republican-inspired Obamacare.

I too receive my Health Care coverage from the VA and it doesn’t come near to the private health care I have had in the past. Long waits to get in unless you go to the emergency room and once you arrive you have a long wait in the waiting room. Going in for a routine appointment easily takes 2-4 hours.
As far as Tricare goes I don’t believe you are required to use the government medical system. You are free to go to private clinics and hospitals, is that correct? I wish they gave disabled veterans the same options you folks get. It can be a chore driving to the hospital locations for elderly veterans.

You are correct Leroy. My only point is that, contrary to the misinformation being spread by the tea party, the government not only can, but already does, run a damn good comprehensive and affordable single-payer medical program, Tricare.

Justice Roberts pulled off the finesse of the century. He took politics out of the decision, which the left were ready to accuse the court of, should they have ruled other wise. He did rule the matter was a tax which made all of the left have egg on their face(political correctness) whenall along they lied to the American people that the law was not a tax but a fee.
But what is even worse in this mattter, the IRS will be able to access(if they want to pursue the matter according to the law) to all of your healthcare information should you not carry healthcare insurance and in the prosecution by the IRS mandating that you carry health insurance and/or assessing a fine for not.

So do you think because he voted with the majority to uphold the Affordable Health Care Act, Justice Roberts will now be called what Pres. Obama has been called – a socialist, fascist, communist etc.? I don’t hear much of an outcry against Justice Roberts – whom I do praise for voting the way he feels, voting his convictions, rather than merely towing the proverbial partisan line much like both those on the far right and the far left. No one is completely happy with the current state of health care. I do think much of the law is good – no denial of coverage for pre-existing conditions, insurance under parents’ plan until age 26, expansion of coverage for millions who were not insured, insurance rather than emergency room visits which drive up the cost for the rest of us, etc. Not much for alternatives with specifics out there… all one hears is “repeal and replace” Replace with what? Americans want, need and deserve specifics and details, not a bunch of generalities…

I agree that Americans want, need and deserve specifics and details, not a bunch of generalitie. I remember the Speaker of the House once told us we would have to wait until the bill was passed so we could see what was in the bill. When it was passed most members of Congress did not know what was in it or if they did know they did not share. Even though they did not understand it they still voted for it. Meanwhile the economy continued to crumble.
The average American was told very little but was told there would be no taxes on anyone making less then $200,000 a year. Now we know it is a tax and there will be a tax on anyone who can afford but does not have health insurance.
I will personally stick with the candidate who says what he is going to do and then does what he said he was going to do. Governor Romney has a history of keeping his promises made during the campaign and while he was in office. President Obama does not have a history of being truthful during the campaign or while in office.

Goodness sakes!
I’d suggest that the SCOTUS, if no one else, read all of the bill. And I’ll just bet that every outraged TP type also has read every word of it in the last three and a half years. This nonsense of ‘no one read the bill’ is just getting way old. Right up there with the birthers.
If you can’t deal with what the SCOTUS ruled, stop with the nonsense and come up with a BETTER plan! Romneycare? What’s the difference?
DO IT!

A Surgeon Cuts to the Heart of the ObamaCare Nightmare
“Capitalism has completely transformed my sub-specialty. When I was in training, a common procedure that I do now took 40 minutes, and people needed a month of recovery. Now it takes 10 minutes, and people can go back to work almost immediately.
“And all these improvements were driven by the financial incentive. Capitalism has had a tremendously positive effect on patient care and outcome in my specialty.
“But when I go to meetings now, I see that there’s very little innovation going on. Everything’s being impacted by ObamaCare, which, among other things, raises taxes on medical devices.

I am optimististic from the thoughtful posts I have read that Obama and Obama care will be repealed. Declaring Obama’s mandate a tax means only 51 votes in the senate is needed for repeal of the individual mandate.
What a gift has been given to Republicans by the Supreme Courts decision. I am glad this is now in the hands of we voters where this decision should be decided not the courts!!!!

Again, if we do not necessitate and demand that all people have some type of medical coverage, do we withhold medical treatment form those who do not or can not pay for it themselves?

A person can be opposed to Obamacare without being opposed to finding ways to make sure everyone is getting the care they deserve and need Roger. Obamacare is far from being the final solution to the issue.
I can’t believe you have no thoughts on the matter and are unable to find a better approach then forcing everyone to buy insurance. I for one am more concerned about the ones who can’t afford insurance then I am for someone who can afford but decides to spend their money some other way.
It may sound harsh but I am not here to pay for someones insurance or medical care who chose to spend their money on tattoes instead of health insurance. I recall seeing an story about a young woman who was concerned about being able to afford birth control but was covered in tattoes. She made the choice of where to spend her money not me.

I fully understand that some choice not to have health insurance and that currently healthcare can not be withheld. Are these not problems that need to be addressed? maybe whqat is proposed is not the best, but it is better than what we have and can be a good starting point.

Actually, the law only impacts hospitals. The clinics in Willmar can and do refuse to see people. ACMC can limit how many patients they see who have medical assistance. That is why they end up in the ER with issues that could be taken care of quicker and cheaper in a clinic setting. That clogs the ER with patients who, while sick, are not really ER cases. If you present in the ER, they are mandated by law to treat your immediate symptoms. If you are in active labor, they must keep you until you deliver. If you present in ER with pain, they can alleviate your pain, but they don’t “cure” why you are in pain, unless it’s something like a broken leg. If you show up with back pain and you haven’t been injured (like in a fall or something) you won’t get an MRI to diagnose what’s going on. You will be given pain pills or muscle relaxers and told to go to your doctor during clinic hours. Then, the clinic won’t see you without cash up front so…….it’s an ugly circle. I don’t think anyone wants people to go without healthcare, I think the biggest problems come from the connection between money and healthcare.

This whole Obamacare debate is amusing in many ways as the left expects a different result from their ingrained antics of the last seventy years. This is their history: Social Security broke after pilfering by putting money in the general fund. Medicare broke after pilfering in the general fund. IOUs are all that’s left, sorry. Obamacare reciepts will be going into the general fund and the CBO already projects an increased deficit of 1 trillion dollars with those funds.Sorry Obamacare is dead in the water. It’s broke before it even begins as we already have a trillion dollar a year deficit per year without it. The left wants to buy a Cadillac but all we can afford is a clunker. Good luck. The legacy of Obamacare will be the abject foolishness of Obama and his policies. Obamacare only insures we go over the cliff with another anvil.

It is truly amazing to see the Supreme Court rule it is a tax and then to hear Jay Carney and Speaker Pelosi, on Meet the Press, deny it is a tax but is merely a “penalty”. Seems to me we have liars lying for the person who in the very beginning of this debate kept repeating there would be no taxes in the Act.
To those who chastised Presdient Bush for spending $1Trillion on the two wars cannot seem to raise thier vocies of protest on the early projected total ten year cost of this healthcare act to be $1.7 trillion.
Brain, you are correct. With my past experience in working with Medicare early on, going from paying 100% of charges to now paying 60% of 80% of the charge, the only way, IMHO, is to squeeze providors(primarily independent practices to go out of business) or what was said would never happen – rationing of care. You can see that with the shifting of $575 billion out of Medicare to provide subsidies to those people who will not be able to buy insurance or will not be able to pay the “taxes/penalties” for not having insurance.

I hope you mean “essential” medical care. Of course that means the government or someone will determine what is “essential”. Surely if I wanted a facelift, Obamacare wouldn’t cover it. By the way, for those in favor of Obamacare, if I didn’t have health insurance and elected to pay my bills myself, what would be wrong with that? I paid my bills myself for many years, when I was self employed. I guess nobody should be responsible for themselves these days.

Goodbye Freedom, the key phrase is that you paid for medical bills. Is this the norm for people, or is it they pay their deductable and insurance pays the rest. Or as in some cases providers eat the amount.

Tricare is a “single payer plan” that is contracted out to private insurance companies. Not sure who currently supports which region but in the past it has been Humana, Aetna, Health Net and TriWest Healthcare Alliance. Doesn’t that mean Tricare is being managed by private companies that are contracted to do the job? That would indicate that government knows it can’t do the job so it has been contracted it out.
