PIERRE (AP) South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard said Thursday he is dismayed by the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that upholds the federal health care law, but said he’ll work to protect the state from what he sees as the law’s harmful effects. Continue Reading

I think Justice Roberts pulled a good one. The mandate itself is not constitutional, but as a tax it is. Therefore, this will now energize people to vote against Obama as their only way to remedy this awfully conceived law. BTW, Obamacare is unaffordable.

There are two major things wrong with this bill. One it does not guarantee health care for everyone and two it does not limit what health care companies can charge. Nebraska has had a law for a long time that says insurance companies must cover even the “uninsurable.” I had a friend who was covered by it a number of years ago. She had unilateral sclerosis. Problem was it cost them $1200 a month even way back then.
I find it strange that our governor is concerned about it hurting insurance companies. How about the people of this state and how they are hurt when they can not get insurance or can’t afford to get insurance with a minimum wage job that doesn’t furnish health care? How about those who die from lack of medical care because they are poor and those who lose their homes because of medical bills? These are the who voted for him.
We have already wasted a lot of taxpayers dollars on this lawsuit. We could have given a lot of medical care with that money. We had no say in how he spent our tax dollars. Maybe if he thinks it is so well spent he should reimburse us.
Meanwhile people are dying while he drags his feet.
We need someone to consider the sick not the insurance companies. They are certainly capable of taking care of themselves.
