Currently, 9 percent of farmers received 1/3 of the benefits. An amendment to limit benefits based on income was defeated.

Why shouldn’t the farm subsidies be completely eliminated? I hear that many conservatives want to cut funding for schools, reduce or eliminate unemployment benefits, and a number of other things for which they see no need or benefit. Let the free market work. If a farmer cannot make it without taxpayer help, then he should try another line of work. Here is a link to the farm program. You can see who is actually taking the taxpayer money to support their lifestyle.
