The EPA is out-of-control.
While the concept is good, as was the early work of the EPA, like too many of the Three-Letter Bureaus, they’ve gone too far.

America has done so well in cleaning up our act since 1970. It’s so sad that that one cent, two cents or four cents per KWH increases don’t concern many. Many feel the EPA only has America’s best interest in mind. But what point is there in discouraging use of coal here just to ship it to China and Indonesia, places that have absolutely no regard for the environment. I know this is very much a left/right question and the EPA, by definition, has no interest in the economy. For every action there is a reaction. Obama’s greenhouse gas position has already increased electric rates and very likely will ruin the natural gas situation, making it completely impossible for us to curb inflation and become globally competitive. It’s heartbreaking and unstoppable. But, who cares? Well, obviously very few.
