North Dakota’s federal races attract $1.2 million in advertising so far

More than $1.2 million has already been spent this year on TV and radio advertising to influence North Dakota’s hotly contested U.S. House and Senate races. Continue Reading

All the advertising in the world is not going to disguise the fact that Berg is an opportunist who has only his own ambition in mind. He has thrown the people of North Dakota under the bus in his efforts to please his Republican overseers in Washington as he votes as he is told on issues of importance to this state.

Add Brian Kalk to the list of OPPORTUNISTS. The only post he has ever held was at the PSC. All he can do is tell you (over and over and over) that he is a marine and post photos of himself wrapped in the flag. ZERO (political) record to run on and ZERO position on important issues. He has held a vapid state office for one term…and now he is suddenly qualified to hold a spot in congress and “change Washington”. Ya…ok.

More telling than anything is the fact that the average ND is only vaguely aware of who is running for what, but everyone knows about & has an opinion on the nickname issue. A fact supported by the amount of press coverage the issue has received.
It’s level of importance is such that none of the candidates are commenting on it lest they anger 50% of the electorate.
Political courage at its best: the most contentious issue of the cycle & no one will touch it.

Berg has always left me with a very uneasy feeling. His support of GW Bush’s policies virtually guarantees I will not vote for him..
However, my uneasiness is more visceral than objective. It is not based on his positions as much as his vibe.
It finally struck me: he is smarmy. Bad used car salesman vibe. Shake his hand then reach for the sanitizer.

He was VP for sales with Goldmark, pretty much the same thing. Your use of ‘swarmy’ I think is the appropriate word to describe how I feel about him.

I agree…he gives off a bad vibe. It’s not my state but I’m praying he doesn’t win. I don’t want him in Washington.

I’m looking forward to Ms Heitkamp to be our next Senator.
As others have said, Rick Berg is smarmy and an opportunist. He is a pawn of the billionaires and special interest groups and is working for then and himself only. He doesn’t care for the middle class working families.

Apparently some people will vote republican no matter who the candidate is…what a shame. I don’t see party lines…I don’t believe one group is better than the other.
