Alicia Potting of Somerset and McKenzie Kelly of New Richmond were among the athletes who competed at the NCAA Division III Track and Field National Championships held at Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calif.) last weekend.
Potting competed for UW-River Falls in the women’s long jump at the national meet last Thursday. Potting had one of her best jumps of the year with an 18-5 1/4 effort. She finished in 12th place. The winning jump was 20-6 1/2 by Wartburg’s Skye Morrison.
“Alicia’s best jump was her first,” said Falcon Coach Aaron Decker. “She was behind the board on her take off and still had a great effort.”
Kelly was part of the UW-Oshkosh women’s team that took second place at the national championships. Kelly ran in the 1500 meter run at the national championships. She finished with a time of 4:53.25, placing her 20th.
