The Grand Forks City Council on Monday wrapped up two details from the construction of the city landfill.

“Council members also received an update from a local group trying to raise $215,000 through grants and other sources for the expansion and renovation of the skateboarding park near Walnut Street and the railroad tracks downtown. Council President Hal Gershman said city staff should look into possible city funds to support the project.”
No surprise there. How about Hal ponies up the money instead?

Well grand forks.. You hired that joker Hal Gershman.. Now find a way to get rid of him.. I wonder why it would cost that much money $215,000 to do what with? And the laughter continues..

The original article stated they wanted $215K for a facility that might attract 30 people. As I said then, they would eventually end up in front of the cuty council, knowing that Gershman has never had a problem spending taxpayers’ (not the city’s) money on boondoggles. Ironically, the same council has no problem refusing licenses to businesses who ask for no subsidies.
They would be better off giving every resident of the city $2 and say anything you want off the dollar menu at McDonald’s.
