I’ll answer my own snarky question. As a helmet-wearing commuter, I am often peeved at how helmet use as used as a shorthand for moral legitimacy as in: Oh, something odd/tragic happened to a bike commuter-please sympathize, dear reader, this cyclist was among the elect, for they were wearing a styrofoam hat at the time.

I have also seen lots of deer within the city limits. Just last week I was out in my front yard, in the East Hillside, and 2 deer crossed the avenue right by my house. Thank goodness there were no cars at that time of day! Gotta keep your eyes open for anything, I guess….

I saw a deer run right between two joggers in Billings Park on Saturday morning and I thought for sure there was going to be a collision.
