EAST GRAND FORKS, MN (WDAZ-TV) – The owners of the Fantasy’s adult store are suing the city of East Grand Forks. The lawsuit was filed Thursday in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis.

Well…..Maybe to the every day boring parts of the state…..We just like to argue….A lot….
Sort of a sporting event around here.
On the other hand….These are not prime examples by any count….I thought they got the shaft by some zealots with pull in the city council….But then they went to EGF and just got a lease and opend shop without firt making sure everything would be alright there….Not very logical. In fact that was about as bone headed of a move they could have made…..
As for them being some big bad porn shop….Not really…More of a exotica shop for women and couples……A big non issue that’s been way over blown…

Bye bye pattersons! They have 0 ground to stand on in their lawsuit against east grand. They sell sexual products which legally classifies them as a adult store. You can’t just open up shop without going through the proper channels. And no mr patterson you are not welcome in our neighborhoods! Wrong zone = no store! You must have a plile of money just throw away.

I’m really not that interested. I just know what the real porn shops looked like before, and all the sexy clothing and such generally were at a minimum because they were geared for men. So it was mostly wall to wall porn, viewing booths, and sex toys. These new shops really are more for women and couples. Which is why they have a lot of sexy clothing, oils, toys and whatever….The actual porn probably isn’t more than a quarter of the inventory (Just guessing here), and the porn is generally more of the high end production type that actually has a story inbetween the sex…..Most porn geared towards male shoppers are often the lower end variety that just has sex from start to finish.
I actually looked into the whole porn world set up one time because it just facinated me how this is an industry. I mean at one time it was all very secretive and back alley stuff and now it’s a huge business where even the movie business has it’s own version of the Academy Awards. I have a hard time getting my mind around how people who do the movies will go up after a clip has been played and accept the award with pride…..When most of us fear like hell ever being caught in compromising positions…..
I’d actually like to interview past and present porn stars to write a book the goes behind the mind set of those who do this and especially of those who were doing it the past few decades and how their mindset has evolved. It’s that facination that’s made me look into the porn world…..And these kind of shops….If you ranked them like they do hot sauce…They would be hot, but not scorching hot

And tell me how they differ from romantix or even sex world in minne. Oh wait they have thong carwashes and sextoy parties. Yes they are geared towards a different audiance than others but a sex shop is a sex shop. It does not belong in residential neighborhoods near parks and schools. I like st clouds idea they restriced all of those buisnesse miles out of the center of town!

Are you still tying to point these things out to me specifically……Look….You have no argument from me. I think they aren’t too wise in either selection, but I felt they got the shaft in Forks because they were basically given approval at first and then they yanked it. If the city was going to do that then they should have done more to help them relocate right away before this became a huge mess. Other than that…You have no argument about how they tried to set these up……I wouldn’t personally be too concerned even with kids in those neighborhoods, but that’s because like I said…these aren’t male focused porn shops so I don’t see them threating anywhere….
Carlin had a great bit about sex and violence on tv….He pointed out how the shows with a lot of violence are tolerated as they are, but if you switched some of the phrases from kill you to screw you then suddenly it’s deadly dialog…Pretty funny bit…Instead of “I’m going to kill you shrriff, and I’m going to kill you slow…so slow that you’ll be begging me to kill you again and again” and then replace Kill with Screw (Actually the F bomb, but that wont fly)

Seriously……how many laws did they break by illegally opening their store between the only two Christian schools in town? Its so simple….follow the simple laws and regulations like every other business in town and you wont have to make a fool of yourself and throw away a load of money making pointless arguments………if their main concern was just opening they would just open where they are legally districted to…..they are just making themselves look stupid now
