Leave the One way streets alone in residential areas! I have lived on East 2nd since purchasing our home in 2004. I have seen numerous drivers go the wrong way. Having said that I believe changing our one way streets in the residential areas, would be a safety hazard to our children and everyone involved. Where are the teachers, staff, Second Chance students and visitors going to park? Where are home owners and visitors going to park. Streets would be too congested for two way traffic. Prime example East 6th street from Gamble west to Burr. Take a drive down there around 10:30pm on a weekday night, very congested! The downtown businesses are worried about traffic flow and safety. Why not change the one way streets from Sanborn to Burr Street and leave well enough alone.?
Let me clarify my the last part of my statement. Keep the one way streets from Sanborn west and Burr east. This would allow the two way traffic flow in the downtown areas and would prevent any confusion around Longfellow Elementary.
