I’ll be voting yes. This issue has been bantered around for 20 years with the state legislature, with no substantial results. They’ve had their chance. Time for workin’ folks to take a stand. Roads will not crumble, fires will be put out, and police will remain on the job. Don’t fall for the scare tactics from the likes of Ed Schaffer and Lloyd Omdahl. They’re nothing more than big money talking, that can pay outlandish taxes and still live like kings. Loss of local control? Ha! We never had it. Just look at how we have to succumb to the federalis pet peeves, or face loss of highway funds. What control do ordinary people have with current issues? None, except at the ballot box, to defeat an unfair tax.
