Everyone is talking about the measure 2 and how they want to pass because of it eliminating property tax. Now they say that we have surpassed Alaska in oil production. Now, I think that the North Dakota governing body has everyone snowballed. First if measure 2 passes and they eliminate property tax, the ND government will find other means of getting that money raised whether its through raising sales tax, income tax or some other tax, but in the end everyone will still pay regardless. Next, if we have surpassed Alaska in oil production why can’t they provide a profit sharing check to all ND residents just as Alaska does and still maintain property taxes. This would show that the ND government is willing to reinvest in North Dakota and the smaller city govt and schools won’t have to worry about where the money will come from to fund jobs and education. It doesn’t take a Rocket scientist to figure this out, in fact I don’t even know why they even came up with measure 2. The infrastructure of this state is more important than ever and the government needs to have their eyes opened.
