What kind of story is this? There was cost-savings this winter for the city in public works because there was less snow, but wait actually there was no cost savings because they decided to use the money to remove trees. Have to make sure they spend every dime they’ve taken from the tax payers instead of adding it back into next years budget and possibly lowering taxes.

Just seems like a good use of resources to me GBP and I usually agree with you. What would you have suggested? Laying off the workers until spring when there was plenty of work that needed to be done? Taking care of city trees doesn’t seem like a ‘make work’ project to me. Work that normally would have had to wait until spring got done. Less fuel use, salt, overtime and wear and tear on plows. Win-win.
I hope you don’t complain about potholes GBP.
