Saw this coming. The place was an absolute wreck.

This is what happens when you let a lot of little expenses become major expenses. Probably hard to justify what putting on a new roof would cost.

The Boot has been slipping for a long time. You’ve got to speand money to make money.

I’m glad Darcy didn’t have to witness this. Terry should be ashamed of himself. First the River Bend, then Whitey’s, and now the Boot….what a tragic loss for the community.

My wife and I were recommended this restaurant by a railroading buddy from the southgate. Being from Winnipeg we thought we’d stepped into a Winnipeg restaurant akin to Ray and Jerry’s or the old style HY’s. Loved the food, the service, the kitcsh.
Drove in from the peg lookin’ for beef and kitcsh in early October 2012 and it was closed. Not just for lunch but obviously for good. Sad, very sad. Grand Forks is losing its allure for this Winnipeger that visits twice a year. Your town has no book store anymore, no coin shop since the colonel passed on,rest his soul, no more Brass Boot. We might have to stay on I29 and pass up GF and highball to Fargo and their Broadway area.
