A business that depends on public subsidies and gimmicks is a business in trouble.
The root cause of their financial troubles is the absurd salaries they pay their players.

Is there a difference between this “subsidy” and the billions in tax breaks given to big oil, Google and many other large corps that don’t need it? Or just the fact the left tends to support getting the stadium built and right wants to keep giving tax breaks to those that need it least?

Why do you think publicly financing stadiums is a leftist issue?

Aren’t you going to give him your “tax breaks do not equal money” line, David?

Let the league borrow some cash on it`s own through it`s owners, and build a stadium if they want one. But it`s time the public stops the subsidy of this busness.
If thet want to leave Minnesota, I`d say don`t let the door hit them in the behind as they go. Go ahead and go already, enough with the threats.

It would cost them hundreds of millions of dollars to move. If they think that’s cheaper than they can go right ahead and do so. I’m a fan of NFL football….not so much the Vikings.

Let them go, with this economy they should be tightening their belt just like us. I will not pay for a new stadium period! What’s wrong with the dome? They would have been better off partnering with the U.

You have to consider how many construction jobs will not happen because $1billioin was spent on a stadium and not other, maybe, more economically efficient projects. You don’t get these jobs for free. They come at a big economic cost.

Next time I want to buy a new car or a new home, I am going to ask the legislature to see if they can pay for 50% of it.

Just remember.
If Minnesota loses the Vikings, it will be blamed on the GOP and no one else.
Remember that.

Got nothing to do with Bush.
Just that’s what would be remembered by fans.

If Minnesota loses the Vikings, we will be paying twice as much to build a stadium PLUS a new franchise fee 10 years down the road.
Just like we did with the lakers… Just like we did with the North Stars.
Let’s not be short-sighted.
